Plate Racks and Window Valances

Since Else and Phil started carving and making furniture in 1979 as professionals, their hand-carved plate racks and window valences have been among the most popular items they have made.

Standard plate rack lengths are 24 inches, 36 inches, and 48 inches. 

Window valances are made to length for each window and can be up to 8 feet long or longer if necessary.

You can choose either basswood or butternut for your plate rack or valence. Basswood can be stained in different tones. Our light honey oak aniline dye with a Danish oil finish has been very popular. Butternut can be stained dark to look like walnut. Most often our butternut pieces are finished with a natural Danish Oil finish.
